Position Overview

We are seeking a Field Engineer – Construction Layout to support our HVAC and plumbing construction projects in the field. This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on performing precise layout work and ensuring installations align with project plans and specifications.

This position plays a key role in bridging field operations and project teams, helping drive accuracy, efficiency, and quality across our mechanical construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Perform construction layout using Trimble/total station equipment for HVAC and plumbing systems

Interpret construction drawings, BIM models, and shop drawings

Verify field installations align with design plans and resolve layout discrepancies

Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Managers to support field execution

Assist with as-built documentation and field measurements

Identify and communicate design conflicts or field issues in real time

Support layout for sleeves, embeds, underground systems, and equipment placement

Ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications and safety standards

Qualifications

Experience in construction layout, surveying, or mechanical field work (HVAC/plumbing)

Hands-on experience with Trimble, total station, or similar layout tools preferred

Ability to read and interpret construction and mechanical drawings

Familiarity with BIM/VDC tools (AutoCAD, Revit) is a plus

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced, field environment
