Davinci Robots, a hybrid room for vascular cases, a busy ENT specialty, general surgery procedures, orthopedic trauma, eye surgery, gynecology, including Gyn oncology, and more; Does not need to have experience with all procedures.
NO Open-heart surgery or organ transplantsRatio / Census: 10 Rooms with average daily census of 32Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBARScrub Color: Provided by the facilityRTO: MAX 7 daysWeekends: Every third weekend unless specified elsewhereFloating: Yes, within facility/scope of practice as neededCall Requirements: Approx 7 days/month + holidays; Each nurse is required to cover approximately 7 days per month.
That includes one weekend per month, which are rotated.
Our department also takes call on holidays which is on a rotation as well.
Typically call starts when your shift ends.
Except on weekends and that is 24 hour call.
We have three levels of call and that tells the probability of being called in.Holidays: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it.
If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays.
