The General Case Manager, under the direction of the Program Manager, is responsible for ongoing needs assessment, Care Plans, implementation, support, information, referral, and advocacy for individuals in the program. This position requires successful working relationships with residents that support their ability to increase self-reliance. The General Case Manager also assists with managing mental health, substance use, and health issues. This position will influence and recognize positive behavior changes and will identify problems and obstacles that threaten to undermine residents’ self-reliance.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

• Liaise and work closely with community support and Program Manager to ensure client needs are accurately identified and information is current.

• Assist in managing resident mental health, addictions and health issues.

• Influence and recognize positive behavior changes and identify problems and obstacles that threaten to undermine residents’ self-reliance.

Position Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Recovery, Harm Reduction, Client-Centered Care, and Trauma -Informed Care best practices and the willingness and ability to work within this framework.

• Degree or diploma in a Human Services field with 2 to 3 years of direct experience working in a supervisory capacity in a residential setting.

• An open, accepting, and non-judgmental attitude with an ability to build rapport with residents and staff

• Experience working with people with complex life circumstances associated with substance-related disorders, mental health issues, mobility issues and homelessness

• Strong understanding of recovery, client-centered care, and trauma-informed care best practices

• Demonstrated understanding of the addictions field

• Knowledge of referrals resources and health services available for vulnerable populations

• Understanding of inner- city issues

• Familiar with recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) as well as Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) Inquiry

• Current Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check

• Current First Aid/CPR/AED training

• Valid Alberta Driver’s Licence

• Personal vehicle with $2 million liability and ability to transport residents as needed

Hours of work: Three months contract with a possible extension. July 6 2026– October 2 2026.

Full-time Day/Night shift 7.5 Hours Monday - Thursday 7:45 am -3:45 pm / Friday – 1:45 pm – 9:45 pm.
