Job Title: Layout Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Facility Layout Engineer to support facility redesign and optimization initiatives within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and validating facility layouts, improving material flow, optimizing space utilization, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement efficient manufacturing solutions. This role requires strong AutoCAD skills, manufacturing engineering knowledge, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modify facility layouts to improve workflow, productivity, and space utilization.

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes and recommend layout improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

• Validate layout proposals for feasibility, safety, and compliance with engineering standards.

• Optimize material flow throughout production areas to reduce waste, minimize transportation, and improve throughput.

• Collaborate with manufacturing, production, quality, maintenance, and operations teams to implement layout changes.

• Create and maintain detailed layout drawings, documentation, and engineering records using AutoCAD or equivalent design software.

• Conduct site assessments and collect data to support facility planning initiatives.

• Support continuous improvement projects focused on operational excellence and lean manufacturing principles.

• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure timely completion of layout modifications.

• Provide technical recommendations for facility expansion, equipment placement, and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• Experience in facility layout planning, manufacturing engineering, or industrial engineering environments.

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.

• Experience with material flow analysis and workspace optimization.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automotive, industrial manufacturing, or production environments.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

• Familiarity with Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and process optimization techniques.

• Experience supporting facility expansions, equipment installations, or plant reconfigurations.

• Understanding of manufacturing workflows, ergonomics, and safety requirements.
