Job SummaryThe job holder will primarily lead and support all talent management practices across the business as well as deliver and implement basic/technical and soft skills training and development processes that will effect return on investment through improved individual and business performance. This is a strategic role responsible for assessing talent needs across the business and recommending relevant strategies, processes, and systems to advance talent management within Absa Bank Botswana.

Job Description

Main Accountabilities

Lead People Business Partners with Talent reviews, Talent mapping and designing development interventions for top talent.

Maintain and implement up-to-date talent practices, procedures, and guidelines pertaining to end-to-end talent management in Absa.

Partner with People partners to up skill people managers on end-to-end Absa talent management processes including Workday process, tools and assessment methods, career management, development and exit processes.

Maintain up-to-date country top talent, critical skills, and succession data.

Implement talent development and retention initiatives as agreed in Talent reviews and talent engagements.

Monitor and collate outputs from People Plans of the talent and individuals identified as critical the business and follow-up on actions/initiatives agreed for these individuals

Advise People and Culture leadership on emerging Talent management and retention thought leadership

Implement creative direct to market talent capturing solutions for the Business, i.e., create and maintain a ‘potential candidate’ database, advertising on web-based job search sites, e.g., LinkedIn.

Provide advisory and support in psychometric assessments, assessment centres and development centres for different roles and development resulting actions plans.

Conducting research on peers, build industry networks, attend industry specific events, job fairs, and partner with labour agencies and tap into global networks.

Aggregate and analyse the development needs of our people within ABB arising from both change and business as usual activity, advising on recommended approach/actions needed.

Design and deliver curriculum to ensure core technical and leadership competence of ABB staff

Drive effective delivery of curriculum using cost effective methodologies, taking potential, cultural, educational, and technological issues into account and substantiate, to meet defined performance outcomes

Continually ensure up to date with the key business imperatives of the functions and correlation between the function and ABB

Establish monitoring and evaluation of all development activities within ABB to ensure performance improved and return on investment for the business

Facilitate, co-ordinate and deliver training program and coaching with country L&D plans.

Manage the end-to-end Graduate Development Program, Internship Program by ensuring ABB attracts, develops, and retains high quality graduates.

Devise monitoring tools and thereafter monitor effectiveness of training and other ‘people development’ activities.

Determine with the Head of Leadership, Learning and Talent, what metrics are relevant and ensure that data is collected and captured to measure performance against metrics

Manage and update Talent Scorecard and vacancy tracker for the business to enable monitoring of performance against sourcing plan

Support analysis of pertinent statistical data to identify trends and developments related to full spectrum of talent management and contribute to Group policies.

Ensure proper application of all the Talent Management and Learning Policies across the business.
