About the Role
Mindwhiz is seeking an experienced Encryption & Data Resiliency Engineer to strengthen
enterprise data protection, encryption management, backup infrastructure, and disaster
recovery capabilities. This role is responsible for ensuring business continuity through
secure encryption practices, continuous data protection, and highly resilient backup and
recovery solutions.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with enterprise backup technologies, key
management systems, disaster recovery platforms, and virtualization environments. The
position requires a proactive professional capable of safeguarding critical business data
while maintaining compliance with security and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise encryption and data protection
solutions.
• Manage centralized Key Management Systems (KMS) and encryption policies
across infrastructure.
• Administer Hardware Security Modules (HSM) for cryptographic key protection
and security operations.
• Manage and optimize backup environments across virtual, physical, and cloud
platforms.
• Perform backup monitoring, troubleshooting, restore testing, and recovery
validation.
• Administer Veeam Backup & Replication, Dell Avamar, Data Domain, and Zerto
environments.
• Implement continuous data protection (CDP), replication, and disaster recovery
strategies.
• Configure and manage Zerto Virtual Manager (ZVM), Virtual Replication
Appliances (VRAs), and Virtual Protection Groups (VPGs).
• Conduct disaster recovery drills and maintain Recovery Time Objective (RTO)
and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) targets.
• Monitor storage performance, backup repository health, and capacity utilization.
• Apply system updates, firmware upgrades, and security patches to backup and
encryption platforms.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement immutable and air-gapped
backup solutions.
• Support infrastructure projects, vendor evaluations, asset management, and
compliance audits.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, backup, encryption, and recovery-related
issues.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in data protection, backup, disaster recovery, and
encryption technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication, Dell Avamar, and Zerto.
• Experience with CipherTrust Manager or similar Key Management Systems
(KMS/TDE solutions).
• Strong understanding of enterprise encryption, key lifecycle management, and
HSM technologies.
• Experience with VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and SAN/NAS storage
environments.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, firewall configurations, and replication
technologies.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning, failover testing, and business
continuity processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and data protection
environments.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with Luna HSM administration and cryptographic operations.
• Knowledge of SOC 2, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and related compliance frameworks.
• Veeam VMCE, Zerto, CISSP, or similar industry certifications.
• Experience with Azure and AWS disaster recovery and migration projects.
• Familiarity with immutable backups, ransomware protection, and air-gapped
recovery solutions.
• Understanding of AI-driven automation, inventory management, and process
optimization.
