On behalf of our client, we are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Loan Processing Assistant to support the loan processing team remotely. This role focuses on reviewing borrower documentation, organizing loan files, and assisting with income analysis. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Loan File Management & Review
Assist loan processors with assembling and reviewing loan files for completeness and accuracy
Review loan notes and file history to understand current status and next steps
Maintain organized and compliant digital loan files
Document Review & Analysis
Review borrower documentation such as pay stubs, W-2s, tax returns, bank statements, and letters of explanation
Identify missing or inconsistent information and communicate accordingly
Document Handling & System Updates
Receive, upload, and organize incoming documents in the loan origination system
Ensure all documents are properly labeled, stored, and accessible
Pipeline & Condition Management
Support condition tracking and document collection to keep files progressing
Monitor appraisal status and follow up as needed
Communication & Coordination
Respond to realtors, loan officers, and internal team inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth processing
Coverage & Administrative Support
Provide coverage for team members during out-of-office periods to ensure workflow continuity
Perform ad hoc tasks as required
Requirements & Qualifications:
An associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred
Experience in U.S. mortgage, banking, or financial service
Familiarity with loan origination systems (e.g., Arive, Encompass) is a plus
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities in a remote work environment
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity
Willingness to learn and to be trained
Ability to review notes and proactively determine next steps on a file
Strong customer service mindset when communicating with realtors and partners
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Two professional references and a valid criminal background check issued within the last 60 days are required for all successful applicants.
Completion of intake paperwork, including submission of a valid tax identification number (e.g., Social Security Number, Social Insurance Number, or the country’s equivalent), is required before onboarding.
Technical Experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Experience using Arive (or similar Loan Origination System) is preferred
Familiarity with Dropbox or other document management systems
Ability to quickly learn and navigate mortgage software platforms
Ability to access and navigate wholesale lender portals for document uploads and retrieval
Ability to work across multiple lender systems and mortgage platforms
