A well-established professional services organisation in the Cayman Islands is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of its Cayman office.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate, efficient and compliant finance operations while supporting a fast-paced professional services environment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders and operational teams to deliver high-quality financial support, maintain robust controls and drive process improvements.
The role also involves supporting time-sensitive transactional work, requiring strong attention to detail, responsiveness and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee core finance functions including billing, cashiering, accounts payable, reconciliations, expenses, client payments and credit control.
Ensure financial processes are completed accurately, efficiently and within required deadlines.
Support the financial aspects of transactional work, including receipt, reconciliation and disbursement of client monies.
Monitor financial performance and provide reporting, analysis and insights to senior management.
Review aged balances and work collaboratively with stakeholders to improve cash flow and reduce outstanding balances.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and annual business planning activities.
Provide leadership, guidance and support to junior finance staff.
Act as the primary finance contact for the Cayman office.
Provide financial guidance and support to internal stakeholders and operational teams.
Monitor workflows and proactively resolve operational issues to maintain service levels.
Manage local banking relationships, account administration and online banking platforms.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls.
Maintain robust financial control frameworks and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and professional standards.
Support audit processes, financial investigations and regulatory reporting requirements.
Assist in the development and implementation of finance policies and procedures.
Ensure adherence to AML and client accounting obligations.
Candidate Profile
Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent.
Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
Experience within professional services, legal, financial services or a regulated environment is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of operational finance, reporting, controls and compliance requirements.
Experience managing cashflows, reconciliations, client payments and financial processes in a fast-paced environment.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong overall systems proficiency.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
