Machine operator

Job Description

This is an entry level position for a person to get into a machine shop environment

and learn to become a CNC Operator/Machinist.

This is a part-time role that has the potential to become a full time role depending on the individual and the needs of the business and business growth.

This is the standard entry point. Core responsibilities are:

Always work and operate in a safe manner

Loading and unloading parts

Running pre-programmed machines

Basic inspection (calipers, micrometers, gauges)

Monitoring for tool wear or coolant issues

Deburring and basic finishing

basic problem solving at the machine or work center

No programming knowledge required — follow setup sheets and work instructions. In a precision shop like PRP, this person would be running our turning centers or mills on repeat jobs.

Part-time
