Atkins and Atkins Attorneys at Law, LLC is seeking an attorney to join our growing domestic relations and family law practice in Columbus, Ohio.

We are open to both newer attorneys seeking mentorship and professional development, as well as attorneys with prior litigation experience who are looking for meaningful, hands-on involvement in family law matters.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys legal writing, strategic thinking, client interaction, and litigation, and who is looking to develop strong courtroom and case management skills within a collaborative environment.

About Our Practice

Our firm focuses on domestic relations and family law matters throughout Central Ohio, including:

- divorce;

- custody disputes;

- property division;

- spousal support;

- post-decree litigation;

- and other complex family law matters.

We approach cases thoughtfully and strategically, with an emphasis on preparation, professionalism, sound judgment, and practical problem-solving.

Associates work closely with senior attorneys on litigation strategy, case preparation, hearings, negotiations, and client guidance. We believe newer attorneys develop best through direct involvement, mentorship, and gradual responsibility supported by collaboration and guidance.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

- drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda, and correspondence;

- preparing for hearings, mediations, and court proceedings;

- communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel;

- organizing and reviewing discovery and financial documentation;

- conducting legal research and factual analysis;

- assisting with litigation strategy and case preparation;

- and attending hearings, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings.

Responsibilities and autonomy will increase over time based on experience, performance, and professional development.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

- admission to practice law in Ohio;

- strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills;

- professionalism and sound judgment;

- ability to communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel;

- willingness to learn and accept feedback;

- attention to detail and follow-through;

- and interest in litigation and family law practice.

Prior litigation or clerkship experience is helpful, but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

- Base salary: approximately $80,000 - $110,000+ depending on experience

- Performance-based bonus structure tied to collections and overall performance

- Paid CLE and professional development opportunities
