Structural Fitter / Production MIG Welder
We are hiring a Structural Fitter to join our team in Terrell, TX.
During the first few weeks, employees will spend time shadowing and training with experienced team members. Candidates will be given multiple opportunities to complete and pass an in-house weld test. Once the weld test is passed, they will begin working in the pits fitting structural product. Job Responsibilities
Read and interpret structural steel blueprints and drawings
Measure, clamp, fit, and tack weld structural steel components together
Build structural assemblies using flanges, webbing, fitting clips, stiffeners, and connection plates
Ensure all parts are fit accurately before welding
Assist welding pits with production MIG welding when fitting work is caught up Job Breakdown
Approximately 75% fitting structural steel product
Approximately 25% production MIG welding support Qualifications
Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools accurately
Previous fitting, fabrication, or structural steel experience preferred
MIG welding experience preferred
Ability to use a cutting torch and arc gouge.
Pass a 1G and 2G weld test with multiple tries Why This Role Matters
Fitters play a key role in production. Accurate fitting and tack welding are essential to keeping welding pits running efficiently. Poor measurements or incorrect fit-up can lead to scrap, rework, and production delays, so quality and precision are extremely important in this position.
