Summary

The Lead Structural Mechanic reports to the Director of Maintenance and will be responsible for aircraft Modification and Maintenance support. The Lead Structural Mechanic will ensure all aircraft Modification and Maintenance is performed in compliance with FAA, manufacturers, and company requirements. He/ She will also provide guidance and leadership over the Structures department and have authority over the Structural Modification Team for the accomplishment of immediate company goals.

Essential Functions

Fully analyzes all required blueprints, drawings, work orders and sketches to troubleshoot, repair and install desired product or part. Detects errors and corrects through proper departmental channels.

Assist the shop with meeting schedule needs to make on-time delivery of the aircraft to support missions.

Inspects all modifications, components and aircraft structural parts for damage, prior to and post installation.

Works effectively with engineering in recommending design enhancements and productivity improvements.

Oversees shop equipment maintenance and condition.

Prompt and regular attendance.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with a thirty minute unpaid lunch break. However, evening and weekend shifts may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

CONUS and OCONUS travel is required. As requested by the customer, travel can be for extended durations which includes overnight stays outside of the normal working location.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum 10 years of aircraft-related experience or have demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform all job tasks.

Extensive knowledge of all aircraft structural systems functions and interactions.

Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA regulations, IPM and ATA codes.

FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate

Preferred Education and Experience

Prior project management experience.

Prior training experience on aircraft structural components and systems.

Leadership.

Other Hiring Requirements

Valid Drivers License.

U.S. Citizenship is requiredto obtain/maintain a United States Security Clearance.

Must pass a DOT/FAA regulated drug screening.

Must be able to obtain a passport.
