Title: Automation Engineering Technician Location: Columbus, Ohio Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) OR 3rd Shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Duration: 6+ Months Contract Job Summary Seeking an Automation Engineering Technician to support pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging operations in a GMP-regulated environment.
This role focuses on troubleshooting automation, controls, and vision system issues on high-speed production lines while supporting manufacturing uptime and equipment reliability.
Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and support PLC-controlled manufacturing and packaging equipmentSupport automation systems, HMIs, sensors, drives, and vision systemsAssist maintenance teams with controls and automation-related issuesPerform fault recovery and system diagnostics on production equipmentSupport continuous improvement and equipment optimization initiativesRespond to automation issues during manufacturing operationsWork closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teamsEnsure compliance with GMP and manufacturing standards Required QualificationsExperience with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley PLC systemsExperience troubleshooting industrial automation equipmentBackground supporting automated manufacturing or packaging linesExperience working in GMP, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environmentsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to support fast-paced production operations Preferred QualificationsExperience with B&R controlsPharmaceutical or life sciences industry experienceExperience with vision inspection systems and packaging equipmentExperience supporting high-speed manufacturing lines
