Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Lead Carpenter to run our residential job sites. In this role, you will be the "go-to" person on-site—combining elite hands-on framing and finish carpentry skills with the ability to lead a small crew, coordinate with subcontractors, and keep projects moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Hands-On Craftsmanship: Execute high-quality work across all phases of remodeling, including framing additions, installing windows/doors, building custom decks, installing siding, and fine interior trim work.

Site Leadership: Manage daily operations on the job site, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and adherence to project timelines. Create takeoffs for materials and daily schedule

Crew & Subcontractor Guidance: Lead and mentor apprentice carpenters/laborers and communicate effectively with trade partners (plumbers, electricians, etc.).

Client Relations: Act as a professional, friendly on-site point of contact for homeowners, answering questions and addressing concerns with a solutions-oriented mindset.

Problem Solving: Read blueprints/specs and proactively troubleshoot the inevitable surprises that come with remodeling older homes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of residential carpentry experience (remodeling experience highly preferred).

Skills: Proficient in framing, siding, window/door installation, and interior finish carpentry.

Tools: Must possess a reliable vehicle (truck/van preferred) and a complete set of standard hand and power tools.

Leadership: Strong communication skills and a proven track record of leading a small team or managing a job site.

Logistics: Ability to navigate job site logistics, scheduling subs and creating daily tasks and goals

Location: Must live within commuting distance of the Ithaca, NY area and have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
