BWC’s core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC’s seven offices across the state. BWC offers flex-time work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.
What You'll Be Doing:
Under the general direction of the Data Warehouse Manager, the ELT Analytics Lead designs and implements high availability data solutions, leads complex technical initiatives, and provides Tier III database and AI solutions development and support across enterprise environments. This role collaborates closely with data architecture staff, IT leadership, and business partners to ensure solutions meet organizational requirements and align with industry best practices.
Solution Design & Architecture
Design and implement high availability solutions across multiple data warehouse and reporting environments.
Perform end to end solutions design, including requirements analysis, architecture review, and ongoing maintenance planning.
Work with data warehouse architects, IT architecture staff, and IT leadership to define and build scalable, secure, and high quality data solutions.
Define tasks, lead technical design meetings, and provide expert guidance throughout project execution.
Contribute to solution business cases and assist with evaluating new technologies and best practices.
ELT Development & Data Engineering
Design, develop, test, implement, and support complex Extract/Load/Transform (ELT) code using tools such as Python, SQL, DBT, AI and cloud technologies.
Perform data migrations, data replication, and data transformation across development, UAT, performance, beta production, and production environments.
Implement and maintain standards for data exchange, including security models, encoding schemes, and data layouts.
Provide Tier III technical support for database performance, availability, data integrity, and user issues.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
Design data warehouse BI structures and assist with implementation of data warehouses and data marts.
Develop and support BI and reporting code using tools such as Tableau, Cognos, and related analytics technologies.
Implement BI tools, dashboards, scorecards, and user interfaces, including custom SQL processes and data extracts for business users.
Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to support enterprise reporting and analytic applications (e.g., Tableau, Python-based analytics).
Provide business support to internal users and issue Tier III resolutions to reporting and data requests.
Performance Tuning & Monitoring
Conduct performance tuning for systems running across platforms such as Snowflake on AWS, Windows, and Linux.
Monitor load balance, system performance, and configuration parameters across all reporting environments and databases (Oracle, Snowflake, AWS, Tableau, Cognos, and cloud DBs).
Lead resolution of performance, availability, security, and data quality issues.
Leadership, Coordination & Documentation
Coordinate, review, and delegate work to lower-level ELT and AI staff as needed.
Mentor peers and junior team members through formal and informal instruction.
Develop standards, best practices, installation guides, monitoring procedures, security policies, and migration documentation.
Prepare weekly activity summaries, maintain and resolve trouble tickets, and communicate project and issue status to stakeholders.
Lead team discussions, planning sessions, and technical collaboration efforts.

Required Experience and/or Education:
60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and implementing high availability solutions, performing solutions design, providing technical Tier III database support, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to design, implementation, operation and ongoing maintenance of databases systems including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems AND 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and implementing high availability solutions, performing solutions design, providing technical Tier III database support, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to design, implementation, operation and ongoing maintenance of databases systems including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems AND 36 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and implementing high availability solutions, performing solutions design, providing technical Tier III database support, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to design, implementation, operation and ongoing maintenance of databases systems including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
