POSITION OVERVIEW
Technical Specialist (TS4) plays the role of lead Salesforce developer and is responsible for
managing all aspects of Salesforce.com (SFDC) including configuration, customization and
implementation of applications and 3rd party integrations. Role also includes collaborating with internal stakeholders and team members to build solutions in SFDC that support business requirements and processes for continuous improvement. The Administrator should have proven experience with Lightning Aura Components, Flows, APEX programming, Force.com APIs. Also, the candidate will work very closely with MuleSoft lead in migrating existing custom API’s into MuleSoft Anypoint platform. This position functions as a member of the Medicaid ITS Team, reports to the ITS Manager, and works with ITS Development teams.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Responsibilities
• Acts as lead Salesforce CRM developer and works very closely with Business Analysts,
Architects & Project managers in planning the releases.
• Work with business teams to understand their processes and translate their needs into
actionable salesforce requirements for configuration/development.
• Involved in all aspects of the Project life cycle, from the initial kickoff through the
requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing and post -production solution and user support.
• Maintains and provides enhancements to the existing Salesforce solutions using latest
features.
• Familiar with Salesforce.com best practices related to release management and deploying
changes through the various sandboxes to production.
• All aspects of user and license management including new user setup/deactivation, roles,
profiles, permissions, public groups, OWD, sharing rules
• Data management to improve Salesforce data quality, implementing rules and automation as needed.
• Provide ad hoc data extracts as per business area needs.
• Proactive system maintenance including Security Reviews, Release Updates, Health Check, and Optimizer
• Identify unused or underutilized platform features.
• Develops and creates dashboards and complex customized reports as per business need.
Manages user testing to include developing test plans, creating user test cases.
• Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, configuration, and user guides.
• Leads the Integrations and supports MuleSoft architect in converting existing custom API’s to MuleSoft Anypoint platform.
• Create a roadmap and define priorities, liaising with stakeholders.
• Mentors and trains State Development resources.
Detailed Day-To-Day Job Duties to be performed:
Responsibilities:
• As a lead and senior developer is involved in all aspects of the project life cycle,
from the initial kickoff through the requirements analysis, design,
implementation, testing, deployment, and post-production support of the high quality
business solutions on the Force.com platform.
• Works with Project Managers, BA’s & Architects in planning the releases.
• Leads daily scrum meetings, reviews, and coordinates the assignment of user stories.
• Works with leadership and stakeholders to provide overall direction, guidance,
definition, and facilitation for the advancement of software development solutions required to meet business strategies and goals for the associated enterprise system.
• Identifies major interfaces, business capabilities need, and existing application weaknesses and opportunities for new technical solutions for systems within the organization.
• Conducts code reviews and performs requirements validation to ensure the enhancements are developed aligning with standards and guidelines.
• Ensures Salesforce.com best practices related to release management are followed and deploys changes through the various sandboxes to production.
• Maintain, enhance, and create Lightning Flows converting existing workflow rules and process builders and other functions and configurations within the Salesforce.com environment.
• Define, document, and build solutions as per SOA, RESTful architecture and perform web
Updated Jan. 2019 Page 5 of 7 services API integrations tasks with other internal and 3rd Party systems (REST & SOAP) and trouble-shoots any issues with partner and applications as they arise.
• Develops and Manages Communities
• Proactively seek out and identify needed system changes.
• Communicate system changes to the users in advance so they understand the change and
how to use it prior to implementation.
• Develops and creates advanced-level customized reports, dashboards and respond to ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
• Works with leadership and stakeholders, determine Salesforce and other technologies, software, tools, and approaches to improve operational efficiencies, and enhance the customer experience.
• Creates project documentation, including user interface guides, training documentation or other functional specific documents and change orders.
• Thoroughly unit test development deliverables and participate in business user acceptance testing.
• Validates test cases and results against requirements.
• Perform Integration/Regression/Smoke Testing of the applications.
• Develop complex, macro driven reports to summarize system information for Senior
Management.
• Salesforce report building best practices should be followed to avoid the creation of configurations that negatively impact performance as data volumes increases.
• Assist with migration from older systems/processes into Salesforce.com.
• Import data as appropriate using Salesforce tools like Data Loader
• Log, troubleshoot and resolve system problems.
• Maintaining the security and integrity of the application software.
• Recommend & review best practices and tools for Release Management/DevOps
• Provide Production support for Salesforce Applications as prioritized
• Maintain and Manage Field Service Lightning Application
• Administrative support for Field Service Lightning Mobile
• Monitor and manage exception logs for back-end system integration with SFDC.
WHAT’S NEEDED
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Technical Specialist 4 must have solid salesforce.com skills, experience setting up Salesforce Communities and ideally, understand the general concepts of Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or related field
• More than 10 years of experience in Information systems in Analysis, Design & Development
• Required 5+ years of Professional Experience in development & administration of applications in Salesforce platform-based technologies (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Community Cloud)
• Required 5+ years of Experience in Aura Components, Lightning Web Component Framework Apex, SOQL development, VisualForce, Java Script, HTML and CSS
• Required 5+ years of experience in SFDC Design, Analysis, Conf iguration, Customization and Coding
• Required 5+ years of experience with SFDC data model and the data migration / integration capabilities of SFDC.
• Required 3+ years of experience handling integrations using API’s or web services with other internal and 3rd Party systems using REST or SOAP.
• Required 4+ years of Experience in building and Managing Communities
• Strong reporting background using standard reporting tools including standard salesforce.com reporting functionality and Einstein Analytics.
• Required Minimum of 5 years of experience using Salesforce tools such as Data Loader,
Flosum, SFDC Outlook connector, Ownbackup, Jitterbit etc.
• Required 1+ years of experience handling Salesforce and Outlook integration.
• Required 5+ years of experience with SCRUM/Agile Development practices.
• Required ability to propose, document, and implement software project lifecycle solutions
(software and documentation).
• Knowledge of Medicaid is desired but not required.
• Knowledge of MuleSoft is preferred.
• Salesforce.com Developer/Administrator certification, MuleSoft certification(s) preferred.
