Position Summary
Duties and Responsibilities
· Know and understand specification criteria prior to performing machining functions.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work to drawings, specifications and established procedures.
· Basic comprehension and understanding of shop mathematics.
· Understand and perform set-ups and teardowns for all department machines.
· Operate equipment according to training and/or equipment specifications.
· Inspect each part per specifications and/or client’s quality requirements.
· Properly handle material machined and maintain machines operated to assure consistency of product.
· Complete associated paperwork timely and accurately.
· Develop and maintain job proficiency, keep technical skills and knowledge up to date.
· Carry out special projects and all other appropriate and reasonable duties that may be assigned from time to time.
· Perform all work-related tasks in a safe manner and report any unsafe conditions to management.
· Use measurement tools such as Dial Bores and Sunnen Gauges.
· Troubleshoots mechanical devices and performs autonomous maintenance and PM’s on department equipment.
· Follow all company safety policies.
Required Training & Experience
· Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
· Five years of relevant experience
· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
· Ability to effectively use a variety of common inspection tools as required by project tasks, to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals or technical procedures, and to write reports and basic procedure manuals.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers.

Visual Acuity
Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading blueprints and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts.
Hearing Ability
Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action.
