Project Engineering Manager — Grayson, Kentucky
Our client, a food manufacturing operation based in Grayson, Kentucky, is seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager to lead capital and facility improvement projects across the plant. This is a site-level leadership role with direct impact on operational efficiency, safety, and long-term infrastructure. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.Responsibilities
Plan, manage, and execute capital improvement and facility projects from concept through completion
Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to align project scope with production requirements
Develop project budgets, timelines, and resource plans; track progress and report to plant leadership
Manage relationships with contractors, equipment vendors, and engineering firms
Ensure all projects comply with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
Lead root cause analysis and implement engineering solutions to address recurring operational or equipment issues
Support capacity expansion, line upgrades, and process improvement initiatives
Mentor and develop project engineering staff where applicableQualifications
Background in food manufacturing is required
Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor oversight
Familiarity with food safety regulations and GMP environments
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline preferred
Effective communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
