AWS Engineer (Contract 3–6 Months)

We are seeking an experienced AWS Engineer to support a large enterprise client with cloud infrastructure engineering, automation, and security initiatives. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and supporting scalable AWS cloud solutions in a complex hybrid environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement cloud infrastructure, application architecture, and security architecture within AWS
Ensure compliance with IT security policies, best practices, and enterprise standards
Partner with IT teams, leadership, and cloud vendors to build and support cloud hosting services
Develop automation tools and Infrastructure as Code solutions to improve scalability, availability, and operational efficiency
Monitor production and development environments and implement proactive reliability measures
Collaborate across infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture, and product teams to deliver consistent solutions
Support infrastructure projects, including endpoint security and network-related initiatives
Manage configuration and change control processes within enterprise environments
Perform root cause analysis on production issues and drive corrective action plans
Create and maintain technical and end-user documentation
Required Qualifications
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, system administration, and application support/development
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies and modern cloud computing trends
Deep expertise with:
ALB
EC2
ECS
S3
VPCs
VPN configurations
Strong knowledge of AWS security best practices, including IAM roles/policies and secure VPC design
Experience developing Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation
Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across hybrid on-prem and AWS environments
Experience designing cloud architecture solutions aligned to enterprise business needs
Ability to manage multiple concurrent IT projects across the full project lifecycle
Knowledge of enterprise networking concepts including routing, switching, remote access, proxy, and security
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
Experience creating both technical and non-technical documentation
