Duties and responsibilities:
· Handling and serving residents in their dining experience in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort.
· Adhering to instructions and care plans.
· Performing duties in accordance with established methods and techniques and in conformance with recognized
standards.
· Make beds
· Measure and record side rails as required for the state of Michigan 7 zones of entrapment.
· Pass fresh water.
Other duties as directed that does not require certification or specialized training beyond their scope.
· Recognize and report resident changes in condition as it relates to the dining experience.
Job Specifications
· Pass and collect trays, feed residents, pass nourishments.
· Report falls or occurrences outside of normal routine resident routine to supervisor.
· Report defective equipment to supervisor and maintenance.
· Transport wheelchair residents to activities or therapies, per care plan.
· Attend mandatory meetings and at least twelve (12) in-service annually; read monthly newsletter.
· Documents according to guidelines.
· Follow rules as outlined in Resident’s Rights and Corporate Compliance.
· Follow Infection Control policies and procedures.
· Assist with CPR emergencies.
· Other support duties as directed by the Administrator, Director of Nursing or supervisor.
· Follow established policy and procedures of the ICMCF, including following dress code, etc.
Education and Training:
Successful completion of an eight-hour State-approved Dining Assistant curriculum. No flags against applicant’s name upon background check. Must be a minimum of 16 years old.
