Job description*:

The associate will be responsible for Cloud Security and Network Security Operations - operational activities including firewall administration (backup/health checks), monitoring health alerts for Application Gateway backends, and execution of ITSM workflows such as RITMs, Incidents, Changes, and Problems using ServiceNow.

The ideal candidate has strong fundamentals in networking (CCNA-level knowledge) and a keen interest in learning cloud/network security technologies. The role also requires client-facing communication, including handling calls and email updates during senior engineers’ absence.

#Key Responsibilities:

1) ServiceNow ITSM Operations

· Create, update, and manage ServiceNow tickets for:

o RITMs (Request Items)

o Changes (Normal/Standard/Emergency)

o Incidents

o Problems

· Ensure tickets have complete information: scope, impact, risk, implementation plan, rollback plan, validation steps, and evidence.

· Drive adherence to SLA timelines and escalation processes.

· Prepare daily/weekly operational updates based on open tickets and work in progress.

2) Firewall Operations & Daily Backups

· Perform daily firewall backup activities (scheduled/manual as per SOP).

· Validate backup success, storage location, naming convention, and retention.

· Perform firewall health checks:

o CPU/memory utilization

o Interface status/errors

o VPN tunnel status (if applicable)

o Policy install status / config sync (if HA)

· Assist in firewall rule implementation under approved changes:

o Rule creation/modification

o Object management

o NAT policy updates (if needed)

o Post-change testing coordination
