Position Overview
We are seeking a spiritually mature and experienced Missions Pastor with a clear calling to pastoral and missionary ministry to provide spiritual leadership and oversight for the church’s missions development, missionary discipleship, and ministry expansion initiatives.
This role is fundamentally pastoral and ministerial in nature and is focused on advancing the church’s spiritual mission through biblical teaching, discipleship formation, missionary preparation, prayer leadership, pastoral care, and ministry leadership development.
The Missions Pastor will play a key role in preparing, mentoring, and spiritually supporting mission workers and ministry teams while helping to strengthen the church’s missionary culture and global ministry impact.
The role will also involve travelling to mission fields, supporting church mission activities, participating in ministry assignments, assisting with church planting initiatives, and providing spiritual leadership during local and international mission engagements as required by the church.
This position is classified as a Minister of Religion role involving core religious duties including preaching, doctrinal teaching, prayer leadership, discipleship, pastoral care, spiritual mentorship, missionary work, and ministry oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral oversight for the church’s missions and missionary development ministry
Lead and coordinate missionary discipleship programmes, ministry preparation classes, and spiritual formation initiatives
Teach and communicate biblical doctrine through ministry training sessions, Bible teaching classes, leadership development programmes, and church gatherings
Conduct regular prayer meetings, revival gatherings, ministry impartation sessions, and faith-based leadership development meetings
Mentor and provide pastoral guidance to mission workers, ministry leaders, trainees, and discipleship groups
Travel to local and international mission fields to support ministry activities, discipleship programmes, church planting efforts, leadership training, and pastoral assignments
Participate in mission outreaches, missionary support activities, and spiritual development programmes in collaboration with ministry partners and affiliated churches
Support the spiritual preparation and pastoral care of members participating in mission trips and ministry assignments
Lead spiritual counselling, biblical guidance, and ministerial mentoring sessions for developing leaders and ministry workers
Assist in preserving doctrinal consistency, spiritual accountability, and biblical standards across mission-related ministry activities
Coordinate ministry training resources and faith-based development programmes aligned with the church’s doctrinal beliefs and vision
Work closely with the Senior Pastor and leadership team in implementing long-term ministry growth and discipleship strategies
Participate in church services, leadership meetings, prayer programmes, and other ministerial responsibilities as required
Qualifications & Requirements
A committed and spiritually mature Christian with a clear calling to pastoral and missionary ministry
Demonstrated experience in ministry leadership, discipleship, missionary work, or pastoral care within a church setting
Strong ability in biblical teaching, prayer leadership, discipleship, and spiritual mentoring
Sound understanding of Pentecostal doctrine, Christian leadership principles, and practical ministry development
Proven experience in leading ministry teams, discipleship structures, or faith-based leadership programmes
Willingness and ability to travel locally and internationally for mission assignments and ministry engagements
Strong pastoral care and spiritual counselling ability
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop structured ministry systems and leadership training frameworks
Completion of RCCG Workers in Training programme and/or RCCG School of Discipleship (or equivalent ministry training) is highly desirable
Ordination and recognised ministry experience within a Pentecostal denomination is advantageous
