#Role Overview:
The Service Transition Manager is responsible for ensuring that new or changed IT services are successfully transitioned into live operations with minimal disruption and maximum value.
This role governs the planning, coordination, and execution of service transition activities, ensuring alignment with ITIL best practices, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
The role is critical in bridging the gap between project delivery and operational readiness in a highly regulated banking environment.
#Key Responsibilities:
Service Transition Planning & Execution:
• Define and manage the Service Transition strategy and plans for new or changed services.
• Ensure all service acceptance criteria are met before go-live, including performance, supportability, and compliance.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, service owners, and operations teams to ensure seamless handover to BAU.
• Maintain and govern the Service Transition Framework, ensuring consistent application across all programmes and projects.
Operational Readiness & Handover:
• Ensure all operational readiness activities are completed, including support model definition, training, documentation, and tooling.
• Validate that support teams are prepared to manage the service post go-live, including SLAs, monitoring, and escalation paths.
• Conduct Service Readiness Reviews (SRRs) and Go/No-Go assessments.
Governance & Risk Management:
• Identify and manage risks associated with service transition, including operational, technical, and compliance risks.
• Ensure all regulatory and audit requirements are met during transition (e.g., FCA, PRA, SOX).
• Maintain transition artefacts, including service design packages, support models, and acceptance checklists.
Stakeholder Engagement:
• Act as the primary point of contact for all service transition activities.
• Provide regular updates and reporting to senior stakeholders, including transition status, risks, and readiness metrics.
