We are looking to expand our team and add a full-time, year-round Trailer Assembly / Lot Technician who takes pride in their work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to grow with a company focused on becoming the best in the industry.

Position Overview

As a Trailer Assembly / Lot Technician, your responsibilities cover everything from the moment a trailer arrives at our dealership to the moment it leaves with the customer.

This is a critical role within Trailer Authority. You will help ensure every trailer is professionally assembled, inspected, cleaned, organized, and road-ready before reaching the sales lot or customer.

This position is physically demanding and primarily outdoors in all weather conditions. We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and willing to help in all areas of dealership operations.

Key Responsibilities

Trailer Assembly & Preparation

Receive and safely unload incoming trailers and freight deliveries

Operate forklifts and equipment to move and stage trailers on the lot

Perform detailed pre-delivery inspections on trailers

Assemble trailer components including tires, jacks, toolboxes, and accessories

Test trailer systems including wiring, lighting, brakes, hydraulics, and suspension components

Perform basic trailer repairs and adjustments as needed

Escalate complex repair concerns to service technicians when necessary

Lot Organization & Appearance

Maintain a clean, professional, and organized appearance of the dealership and sales lot

Wash and prepare trailers for customer display

Organize inventory and trailer placement on the lot

Assist with merchandising and dealership presentation

Customer Support

Assist customers with trailer pick-up and trailer hookup

Verify proper trailer system operation before customer delivery

Help create a smooth and professional customer experience

Team Support

Assist in other departments and daily dealership operations as needed

Adapt to changing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

Support the Trailer Authority team with a positive, “Be Better” attitude

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate:

Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in quality work

Is dependable, motivated, and willing to learn

Maintains a positive attitude and strong work ethic

Is comfortable working outdoors year-round

Experience with trailers, trailer repair, forklifts, or heavy equipment is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual with the right attitude and commitment.

Qualifications & Skills

Forklift and/or heavy equipment experience preferred

Experience using power tools and shop equipment

Electrical or trailer repair knowledge is a plus

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities

Ability to communicate professionally and work collaboratively with team members

Physical Requirements

Ability to regularly lift and move up to 75 lbs

Ability to frequently bend, kneel, squat, twist, climb, and stand for extended periods

Ability to repeatedly perform physically demanding activities throughout the workday

Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Schedule

Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Saturday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Sundays Off
