Material Handler

Job Description

The Material Handler plays a vital role in managing and moving raw materials and finished goods within an automotive manufacturing environment. Operating various forklifts and material handling equipment, this position ensures efficient inventory management, order preparation, and strict adherence to safety standards while supporting a large team. We have availability on day shift and night shift. The role offers opportunities for growth through leadership roles and cross-training within the warehouse and logistics departments.

Responsibilities

Manage inventory of raw materials and finished goods

Move materials efficiently using forklifts and other handling equipment

Prepare orders accurately for shipment or storage

Load and unload materials safely and timely

Ensure compliance with warehouse safety standards

Operate forklifts including reach trucks, sit-down, and stand-up types

Inspect materials for quality and report any discrepancies

Maintain organized warehouse and replenish stock as needed

Complete documentation related to material handling activities

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year experience in material handling

High school diploma or equivalent

Proficient forklift operation skills

Knowledge of inventory control and handling equipment

Understanding of warehouse safety standards

Basic computer skills for documentation

Physical stamina to perform manual tasks

Strong attention to detail

Effective communication skills

Ability to work well within a large team
