Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in 3-way match accounts payable processing, ensuring accurate matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices. Key responsibilities include:
The accounts payable specialist will be responsible for processing and reconciling invoices using the 3-way match method to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Investigating and resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
Managing vendor relationships, including responding to inquiries and reconciling statements.
Handling weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
Maintaining accurate records of all transactions and updating the vendor database.
Preparing and issuing vendor 1099 forms is a responsibility of the accounts payable specialist.
Assisting with month-end close processes, including reconciling accounts payable to the general ledger.
Supporting internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
Collaborating with purchasing and receiving teams to ensure seamless operations.
Preferred Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
AAS/BS degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience in accounts payable and general accounting.
Intermediate MS Excel skills, including v-lookups and pivot tables, are a plus.
Thorough understanding of accounts payable procedures and general ledger chart of accounts.
Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
