Summer Techology Assistants
TITLE: Summer Technology Assistant (part time up to 19 hours/week)
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
WORK DAYS: Monday-Friday between July 1 & Aug 31, 2026 as needed
HOURS: Not to exceed 8am-3pm each day, not to exceed 19 hours per week
COMPENSATION: hourly at MA minimum wage, $15.00 per hour
(non-benefited, non union position)
The Technology Department of the Westborough Public Schools is seeking several highly motivated and self-directed Summer Technology Assistants to work part time with the tech team on summer projects on an as-needed basis. The successful candidate must be self-directed and able to work autonomously and as part of a team as they assist the technology department in its summer work of readying existing and newly purchased iPads and Chromebooks, updating classrooms, moving equipment, managing inventory, and other tasks.
Qualifications:
Eligible to work for the district (at least 14 years old with birth certificate or passport)
Able to follow verbal and written instructions
Able to work independently
Able to be trained in use of inventory and device management systems
Able to troubleshoot hardware and software issues and research solutions
Physical Requirements: One or more of the following are physical abilities are required:
Speaking, hearing, seeing
Standing and/or walking for considerable periods of time
Bending and lifting as much as 35lbs and/or pushing carts as much as 200lbs
Climbing and working on a ladder
Operating a computer efficiently and effectively
Beneficial to Have:
Computer support experience
Experience using and troubleshooting iOS or ChromeOS devices
Experience working in a school setting
Ranger Tech Squad experience

Applicants under the age of 16 must obtain a work permit from the High School office and have it filled out by their physician to confirm their physical fitness to work as a Summer Tech Assistant. Work permits must be signed in person in front of a school representative and they must be accompanied by an original birth certificate or passport.
