The Associate Network Engineer supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN environments, firewalls, and wireless systems.
Education and/or Experience Required: * Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
* Experience: Minimum 4 years in the configuration, administration and maintenance of network applications, hardware, and current operating systems.
Education and/or Experience Preferred: * Education: Associates Degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
* Experience: Experience with Extreme and/or Arista Network equipment.
Experience with Checkpoint and/or Palo Alto Firewall technology.
License and/or Certification Required: * Active Driver's license.
License and/or Certification Preferred: * CompTIA A+, Network +, Other related Certifications.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge: * Foundational knowledge of network infrastructure concepts, including LAN/WAN technologies, routing and switching, and network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). * Basic understanding of dynamic and static routing, AAA, NetFlow, QoS, and VoIP technologies.
* Familiarity with Ethernet and wireless (WLAN) technologies, including standards, encryption methods, and security principles.
* General understanding of network security best practices and performance optimization concepts.
* Awareness of system development life cycle (SDLC) and project methodologies preferred.
* Understanding of how network systems support and integrate with clinical and business operations.

Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization-30% * Monitors network performance, availability, and capacity using established tools and processes.
* Identifies, analyzes, and resolves network-related issues involving hardware, software, and connectivity.
* Performs initial root cause analysis and escalates complex issues as appropriate.
* Assists in throughput analysis and supports performance tuning efforts.
* Partners with team members to implement corrective actions and minimize service disruptions.
Network Infrastructure Support & Implementation-20% * Supports the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including LAN/WA environments, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems, and VoIP/SIP technologies.
* Assists in executing technical designs and ensures solutions align with organizational standards, security requirements, and operational needs.
Documentation, Standards & Change Management-20% * Develops and maintains network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
* Supports change management processes by documenting updates and assisting with test planning and validation.
* Ensures adherence to established documentation and configuration standards.
Collaboration, Customer Support & Operations-15% * Coordinates with Information Services teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support network operations and initiatives.
* Serves as a liaison to end users, providing timely communication, support, and follow-up.
* Maintains a high level of customer service and responsiveness.
* Responds to incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
* Supports network operations across multiple locations, including office and patient care environments.
* Participates in on-call rotation as required.
* Able to attend to operational issues at off-site locations.
Project Participation & Continuous Improvement-15% * Participates in infrastructure projects, system implementations, and technology evaluations.
* Supports process improvement efforts by identifying trends and recommending enhancements.
* Contributes to the adoption of best practices and standardization efforts.
