We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Emergency Department (ED) to provide both clinical and operational leadership within a high-acuity Emergency Department setting.
Reporting to senior nursing leadership, this role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care, managing departmental operations and staffing, and driving clinical excellence and performance outcomes.
The Nurse Manager will lead initiatives related to staff performance, patient safety, and regulatory compliance, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Operational Leadership
Oversee daily operations and staffing of the Emergency Department
Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care
Monitor compliance with nursing standards, policies, and procedures
Support patient-centered care initiatives and operational efficiencyStaff Leadership & Accountability
Hold staff accountable for clinical quality and performance outcomes
Support leadership development and team collaboration
Promote a positive, high-performing department culture
Drive staff engagement and retention initiativesQuality & Patient Outcomes
Monitor and evaluate nursing care delivery and patient outcomes
Lead initiatives focused on:
Clinical excellence
Patient safety
Quality improvement
Service excellence
Ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standardsDepartment Overview
24 Main Emergency Department beds
12 Hallway beds
Level II Trauma Center
Average daily volume: ~100 patients
Oversees approximately 90 FTEs
Scope limited to Emergency Department operationsRequired QualificationsEducation
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (required)
BSN preferred
Candidates pursuing BSN must complete within 2 years of hireLicensure & Certifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
Kansas RN license or Compact RN license (required)
Required within 90 days of hire:
ACLS
TNCC
NIH Stroke Scale
ENPC or PALSExperience
Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department leadership experience in an acute care setting (required)
Experience must be within the past year
Charge Nurse ED experience may be considered
Manager-level experience in a high-acuity facility strongly preferredIdeal Candidate Profile
