Temporary Box Office Manager

The Flynn is Vermonts leading performing arts organization and a statewide platform for creativity, connection, and civic engagement. Through performances, festivals, education programs, and public-space initiatives, the Flynn serves more than 165,000 people annually and plays a central role in Vermonts creative ecosystem. The organization is guided by a bold 20252030 Strategic Plan focused on access, innovation, partnership, and national visibility.

Beautiful Burlington, VT sits on the shores of Lake Champlain between the Green Mountain and Adirondack Mountain ranges. It is a stunningly beautiful place to live and play, and the community is filled with artists, craftspeople, and outstanding food.

The Flynns Box Office supports ticketing for over two hundred unique events per year and administrates at least three subscription packages. Events are booked and put on sale on a rolling basis throughout the year. The Flynn currently operates with Tessitura and TNEW and will be launching a new website in the coming months.

As we search for our next permanent Box Office Manager, we seek a temporary Box Office Manager to provide leadership and support to our staff supervisors and agents.

The person in this role will:

Build shows as they are booked.

Maintain ticketing dashboard in Tessitura.

Maintain and evolve existing box office protocols.

Schedule agents and supervisors (or delegate).

Ensure compliance with box office agent C.B.A.

Provide guidance as needed for customer service issues.

Direct financial reconciliation for the box office.

Keep upper management informed of challenges and opportunities

In addition, the Temporary Box Office Manager may be asked to train the incoming Box Office Manager.

Essential Skills and Characteristics:

Tessitura experience in ticketing and venue builds

Management experience in a customer service environment that has periods of heavy traffic and high touch customer service

Exceptional problem-solving capacity

The ability to drive work forward with urgency while maintaining a work atmosphere of calm, compassion, and support.

The Temporary Box Office Manager will report to the Chief Experience and Infrastructure Officer.

Compensation and housing negotiable based on experience.
