Cleveland Public Schools is seeking an innovative and qualified instructional leader to join our family as our Elementary Math Intervention Coordinator. We are a school that prides itself on creating opportunities and giving students hope through education.
Job Description and Skills Needed
Assess student mathematical skills and identify areas of need to improve student achievement and growth using multiple data sources, including universal screenings, diagnostics, and classroom performance
(MAPA requires screening students multiple times per year to identify deficiencies)
Demonstrate knowledge of research-based mathematics instruction and intervention practices, including conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving development
(Core components emphasized in the Math Achievement and Proficiency Act)
Support the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for mathematics, including Tier II and Tier III interventions
Assist in the administration and analysis of state-approved universal math screeners given at the beginning, middle, and end of the school year
Collaborate with teachers and administration to develop and monitor Individualized Math Intervention Plans (IMIP) for students not meeting grade-level expectations Assist teachers in using screening, diagnostic, and progress-monitoring data to deliver targeted, research-based math interventions aligned to individual student needs
Support identification and intervention planning for students exhibiting characteristics of dyscalculia, including coordinating appropriate supports and referrals
(MAPA includes screening and supports for math-related learning difficulties)
Provide ongoing progress monitoring systems to track student growth and adjust interventions as needed
Consult frequently with administration and instructional staff regarding mathematics instruction, data analysis, and student achievement
Assist teachers and instructional staff in developing effective math strategies through modeling lessons, observations, coaching, and feedback
Participate in and help lead student data meetings, guiding decision-making and strengthening intervention systems
Provide professional development and training to staff on dyscalculia, evidence-based math instructional practices and use of student data
Coordinate family communication related to student math performance, intervention plans, and progress
(Parent notification is a requirement under the law)
Stay current on all updates, requirements, and guidance related to the Oklahoma Math Achievement and Proficiency Act
