Lead CNC Press Brake Operator

Job Description

Apex Laser Inc. is looking for a seasoned CNC Press Brake Specialist who takes pride in precision. We aren’t looking for a 'button pusher'—we need a craftsman who understands metal forming, bend allowances, and complex sequencing. You will be responsible for taking raw flat parts from our laser department and transforming them into high-tolerance finished components.

What You’ll Do

Complete Setup: Perform independent setups on CNC Press Brakes (EsaBend experience preferred).

Precision Bending: Execute complex bends while holding tight tolerances of +/-0.005'.

Blueprint Mastery: Read and interpret complex technical drawings, including GD&T symbols and flat pattern developments.

Quality Control: Perform first-article inspections using calipers, protractors, and height gauges to ensure every part meets Apex standards.

Tooling Management: Select, install, and maintain proper punch and die sets based on material thickness and required radii.

What We’re Looking For

Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in precision sheet metal fabrication.

Technical Skill: Deep understanding of k-factors, setback, and material spring-back across various alloys (Stainless, Aluminum, Cold Rolled Steel).

Independence: Ability to walk up to a machine with a blueprint and a stack of parts and see the job through to completion without constant supervision.

Detail-Oriented: A 'measure twice, bend once' mentality.
