Location: Hybrid – Columbus, OH

Salary: $80,000–$90,000

About the Organization:

A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its team.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and supporting the organization’s financial integrity in a nonprofit environment. This role manages core accounting functions, ensures compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, supports grant tracking and reporting, and plays a key role in audit preparation and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, general ledger, payroll support, and revenue recognition

Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries

Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

Prepare timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Track and report on grant and donor funding, ensuring compliance with restrictions and funding requirements

Support budgeting and forecasting processes; monitor performance against budget and analyze variances

Assist in preparation for the annual audit and serve as a liaison with external auditors

Monitor cash flow and maintain appropriate cash controls

Provide financial analysis and insights to support organizational decision-making

Preferred Qualifications of the Accounting Manager:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

5+ years of progressive accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred)

Experience with general ledger and full-cycle close processes

Experience supporting or preparing for federal grant audits

Experience with grant accounting and compliance reporting
