About the Role
Maintainer is looking for a Paint Department Manager to lead daily operations across all paint areas. This role is responsible for managing people, processes, quality, and safety to ensure products meet company and customer standards.
What You’ll Do
Lead daily operations across all paint department areas
Coordinate production to meet schedules and delivery deadlines
Ensure high-quality paint finishes on all products
Identify and resolve paint defects and production issues
Supervise, coach, and develop Paint Department employees
Support hiring, training, and performance management
Maintain safety standards and ensure proper use of PPE
Monitor inventory, equipment, and supplies
Track productivity, quality, and efficiency metrics
Partner with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams
Drive continuous improvement efforts
What We’re Looking For
Experience
4–5 years in industrial painting or manufacturing
2–3 years in a leadership or supervisory role
Experience with paint prep, booth operations, and finishing processes
Heavy-duty equipment or truck body experience is a plus
Skills
Strong knowledge of paint processes and quality standards
Ability to read blueprints and work instructions
Team leadership and problem-solving skills
Good communication and organization
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar)
Work Environment
Manufacturing and paint shop setting
Exposure to paint, chemicals, and equipment (PPE provided)
Moderate to loud noise levels
Occasional overtime may be required
Physical Requirements
Standing and walking for long periods
Lifting up to 50 lbs
Working in varied positions (kneeling, crouching, etc.)
