Must-Haves:

Minimum of 5+ years of Primavera (P6) scheduling experience, currently or recently used in past employment. (need to have used P6 within the last year)

Scheduling experience in utilities or construction management.

Great communication skills

Qualified experience includes utility-specific operations knowledge with a good understanding of work processes and procedures. Experience should cover design, operations, planning, project management, cost tracking analysis, forecasting, project budgets, and/or construction.

Education requirements vary based on experience:

High School Diploma or GED: 7 years of qualified experience

Associate's degree: 5 years of qualified experience

Bachelor's degree: 3 years of qualified experience

Degrees must be in a related field from an accredited university or college, such as Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or Project Management.

License/Certifications:

A professional or trade certification (e.g., CCMP, CETa, IQCP, PMP, RMP) is required for candidates with only a high school diploma or a non-qualified higher education degree. Otherwise, certification is preferred but not required.

Job Summary:

The Principal Project Scheduler will coordinate team activities and support Project Managers (PMs). With minimal supervision, the role involves scheduling and/or commodity tracking for major projects. Responsibilities include developing and analyzing complex schedules using the assigned system, maintaining schedules, collecting progress data, and providing accurate information to senior management. The candidate must interface with site execution teams, contractors, and AEP senior management.

Essential Job Functions:

Define activities, durations, work sequences, and relationship logic to develop and implement the scope of work plan and milestones.

Ensure all logic and activities meet customer requirements and internal standards.

Develop fully integrated system schedules, including resource loading and leveling, using critical path methodology.

Mentor junior schedulers and organize schedule review meetings with stakeholders.

Communicate schedule status to project stakeholders and guide the administration of AEP project management standards.

Diagnose and resolve issues with scope of work schedules.

Train junior schedulers on preparing and analyzing metric reports, schedule risk, what-if schedules, and all aspects of scheduling within the assigned systems and software.

Perform/coordinate schedule and cost integration, including SPI/CPI processes.

Provide risk assessments and recommended mitigation actions to project teams.

Ability to work collaboratively as a team player.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and complex spreadsheet development.

Self-motivated and able to work independently under general supervision.

Safely perform light physical duties at various work sites.

Understand and support AEP's policies, values, principles, structure, and behavior.

Availability for overtime work as requested.

Proficient in reviewing scope, client requirements, and project delivery strategies.
