Job Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of acute care inpatient coding experience (hospital coding)
Proficiency with EPIC and 3M360 (experience with electronic health records and coding software)
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and MS-DRG assignment
Ability to work independently in a remote production environment and meet productivity/quality targets
CCS certification strongly preferred; RHIT or RHIA considered with strong recent inpatient coding experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration Key Responsibilities
Accurately code a diverse mix of inpatient charts for a multi-hospital system, focusing on acute care cases
Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and MS-DRG groupings per current coding guidelines
Ensure compliance with coding regulations, payer requirements, and hospital policies
Maintain productivity and quality standards in a remote medical coding environment
Communicate and collaborate with clinical and coding team members as needed to clarify documentation
