Lead Maintenance Technician First Shift
Walor North America is looking for a Lead Maintenance Technician to join its Technical Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and operation efficiency. This role provides hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, mentoring, and leadership to the maintenance team while coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance activities on forging presses, CNC machinery, automated systems, and facility equipment.
What you will do
Lead and support maintenance technicians in daily maintenance operations and prioritize work assignments based on production needs.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain forging presses, CNC machines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, conveyors, automation equipment, and facility systems.
Perform preventative, predictive, and emergency maintenance to minimize downtime.
Coordinate maintenance schedules with production leadership to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency.
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and PLC-related issues.
Assist with installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts inventory.
Mentor and train maintenance technicians on troubleshooting techniques, safety procedures, and best practices.
Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, scrap reduction, downtime reduction, and process improvements.
Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when necessary.
Participate in on-call or emergency maintenance coverage as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
What you will bring
High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or maintenance certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Experience in forging, machining, automotive, steel, or heavy industrial manufacturing strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of:
Hydraulics and pneumatics
Industrial electrical systems
PLC troubleshooting
Mechanical power transmission
CNC machinery
Welding and fabrication
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Experience using CMMS or maintenance tracking systems preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Work Environment
Location-The Lead Maintenance Technician role is based onsite at our Columbus facility
Physical Demand-May be required to lift moderately heavy automotive components up to 15 pounds
Schedule-Monday thru Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:15 PM, some overtime or weekends may be necessary
