Position Summary:
The Shop supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the automotive customization shop, ensuring all projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role serves as the bridge between management and technicians, coordinating workflow, assigning tasks, and providing hands-on technical guidance. The Shop Supervisor monitors productivity, troubleshoots complex issues, and performs final quality inspections to ensure customer satisfaction. Strong leadership, organization, and deep technical expertise in automotive systems and aftermarket customization are essential to successfully manage a high-performing team and deliver exceptional builds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily workflow of technicians, fabricators, and installers
Aid in job assignment based on skill level, timelines, and project complexity
Ensure all work meets quality standards and customer expectations
Maintain productivity targets and manage shop scheduling
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and fabrication issues
Perform final inspections before vehicle delivery
Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized shop environment
Train, mentor, and evaluate team members
Collaborate with service advisors, sales team, and customers on project scope and timelines
Manage inventory, tools, and equipment; coordinate with vendors when needed
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in automotive repair, performance, or customization
5+ years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
Strong knowledge of aftermarket parts, fabrication, wiring, and diagnostics
Ability to read and interpret build sheets, schematics, and technical diagrams
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong communication and leadership abilities
Valid drivers license (clean driving record preferred)
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, Operations Management, Automotive Technology, or related field preferred.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
Compensation
Paid Weekly.
Schedule
May involve extended hours depending on business needs. Monday through Friday.
