Hybrid Developer & Data Process Engineer
Voxelmaps is seeking to hire a hybrid Developer & Data Process Engineer to support both our Research & Development and data processing operations teams. This is a full-time, permanent role with an immediate start date. This position blends full stack application development with data pipeline and cloud infrastructure work, focusing on building scalable web platforms while supporting the processing, transformation, and validation of large datasets generated from mapping systems. You must live in Austin, TX or be willing to relocate, as this is an office-based role not remote.
What You'll Do
Design, develop, and maintain modern.NET-based web applications and APIs
Build and support data processing pipelines for large-scale mapping datasets
Work with cloud infrastructure (AWS) to support application and data workflows
Develop and maintain frontend components using modern JavaScript frameworks
Execute, monitor, and troubleshoot data processing workflows
Write and maintain automation scripts (Bash/Python)
Manage and deploy services using containerized environments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Debug, test, and optimize both application code and data pipelines
Ensure system performance, reliability, and scalability

Required Experience
Application Development:
Strong experience with C# and .NET /.NET Core / ASP.NET Core
Experience building REST APIs and backend systems
Frontend development experience with JavaScript / TypeScript and React
Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design
Strong SQL experience (SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL)
Systems, Cloud & Data:
Strong experience with Linux (Ubuntu 22.04 / 24.04)
Experience working with AWS, specifically:
EC2 (compute instances)
S3 (storage and data handling)
Experience using GitLab for version control and collaboration
Strong experience writing Bash scripts for automation
Experience using SSH for remote system access and management
Experience working with Docker (containers, images, logs, volumes)
Ability to troubleshoot data pipelines and system-level issues
Compensation
$95,000 per year gross salary
