Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Safely perform railcar switching, spotting, coupling, and uncoupling operations.
Operate switches, derails, handbrakes, air hoses, and related rail equipment.
Load and unload bulk liquid and dry products from railcars using pumps, hoses, conveyors, and transfer systems.
Operate and inspect railcar loading and transloading equipment.
Conduct daily inspections of trackmobiles, braking systems, and safety devices.
Perform yard checks and maintain accurate inventory documentation.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment throughout the facility.
Support preventative maintenance and minor repairs on transload and facility equipment.
Enforce and promote all safety policies, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Communicate operational or safety concerns promptly to supervisors.
Assist with additional facility duties including site upkeep, painting, and general maintenance.
Participate in ongoing operational and safety training initiatives.
Travel to other transload terminals as needed to support operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience in rail operations, transloading, logistics, or industrial environments preferred.
Experience operating locomotives, railcars, or transload equipment considered an asset.
Ability to safely work around hazardous materials and heavy industrial equipment.
Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, switching instructions, and operational documentation.
Basic computer and data entry skills.
Valid Driver’s License required.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions at a 24/7 operational facility.
Physically capable of climbing railcars, lifting and handling hoses, applying handbrakes, and performing repetitive physical tasks.
Ability to work rotating day and night shifts.
Must successfully complete required certifications, medical clearances, and drug/alcohol testing.
