Patient Services Specialist (Medical Front Desk)
Location: Delaware, OH
Pay: $18.00/hour
Type: Contract-to-Hire (5 months)
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Work Environment
Outpatient clinical setting with a busy practice. This position requires flexibility to support multiple locations with occasional short notice coverage.
Schedule
Monday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
1-hour lunch daily
About the Role
We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Patient Services Specialist to support front desk operations in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and a strong commitment to providing excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Warmly greet every patient with eye contact, a smile, and a positive statement
Guide and explain new patients through paperwork and answer any questions
Perform patient registration
Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations
Collect co-pays and process payments
Answer phones, check voicemails, schedule appointments, and follow up
Maintain accurate patient information and documentation in EMR systems
Support daily closeout procedures and review patient charges
Required Skills & Experience
1+ year of experience in medical front desk, general front desk, or customer service role
Excellent customer service skills both in person and over the phone
Strong multitasking ability in a high-volume environment
Proficiency with computers and administrative systems
Proven reliability and consistent attendance
Reliable transportation required (not accessible via public transit)
