Job Description

Associate Attorney — Title & Real Estate

BK Law · North Carolina & South Carolina · Full-Time

The real estate closing industry is overdue for a shake-up. We're doing the shaking.

While most firms are still running closings the same way they did in 2005, we're closing files with eClosing Technology, AI-assisted title review, and a centralized model that's leaving traditional practices in the rearview. We protect our clients and their information with a robust security infrastructure and use state of the art identity proofing applications.

We're not looking for attorneys who want a comfortable seat at a comfortable firm that does things a certain way because “that’s the way we have always done it.” We're looking for attorneys who see where this industry is headed, are creative and want to help drive it there.

If that's you — keep reading. If not, there are plenty of firms still doing it the old way.

What You'll Do

Analyze residential title opinions with accuracy and efficiency

Handle real estate closings across NC and SC — review titles, draft deeds, prepare closing documents, and see the file through issuing a final title opinion.

Collaborate with internal teams on title updates, curative work, and closing readiness

Work inside a modern tech stack — eClosings, eRecording, automated document assembly, and digital title workflows

Contribute to improving processes — we value ideas that make things faster, smarter, and better

Support a high-performance, detail-driven environment without losing sight of quality

Why BK Law Is Different

Centralized, tech-enabled closing work is the future of real estate law — and we've built the systems, technology, and team to deliver it safely, securely, and at scale. By centralizing our operations and leaning into modern tools, we give our attorneys the support and bandwidth to focus on sharp legal work and strong client relationships.

Cutting-edge experience. Hands-on work with digital closings, and AI-assisted title review — tools most closing attorneys haven't touched yet.

Built to scale. Our centralized model and modern tech stack are designed for speed, accuracy, and consistency — file after file.

A seat at the table. As new search techniques, eClosing, eRecording, Digital Banking and new closing models roll out across NC and SC, you'll help write the playbook — not follow someone else's.

Real mentorship. Learn from attorneys who've closed thousands of files and genuinely want to pass on what they know.

What You Bring

Licensed in NC and SC (or eligible to waive into whichever one you aren't currently licensed in)

Strong experience or genuine interest in title work and closings

Ability to manage a full workload while maintaining sharp attention to detail

A mindset that balances legal precision with operational efficiency

Comfort working in a team that moves quickly and expects you to think independently

The ability to explain a title issue to a nervous consumer, or sophisticated lending institution without making it worse

What Sets You Apart

You don't just complete work — you look for ways to improve it

You're energized by growth, change, and building something better

You can toggle between deep focus and big-picture thinking

You're willing to challenge "how it's always been done"

What We Offer

Competitive Compensation Program

Health, dental, and vision coverage

401(k) with firm match

PTO you're actually expected to use

Bar dues, CLEs, and licensing fees covered

Flexible schedule options

A platform where your ideas are heard — and often implemented

A team that values innovation as much as execution, and genuinely enjoys working together

A Final Note

If you're looking for a traditional law firm, suits ties, and a stuffy atmosphere, this likely isn't it.

If you're looking for a place that dreams bigger, thinks smarter, and isn't afraid to disrupt the industry — we should talk.

How to Apply

Send your resume and a short note telling us what you find interesting about where real estate closings are going to [].

Skip the cover letter template — we'd rather read two honest paragraphs than two pages of filler.

Company Description
