Facilities Specialist (Part-Time)

Cass County Public Library is seeking a Facilities Specialist to support the maintenance and upkeep of library buildings and grounds across multiple locations.
This position is heavily focused on grounds maintenance during the summer months. Candidates should expect regular outdoor work including mowing, trimming, landscaping, and general property upkeep across library locations.
In addition to seasonal grounds work, this position performs a variety of hands-on tasks including basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry), equipment upkeep, and responding to facility needs to ensure safe and functional environments for staff and patrons.
The role requires regular travel between locations and may involve use of a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed). Ideal candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Key Highlights:
Perform building repairs and preventive maintenance
Maintain library grounds (mowing, landscaping, seasonal upkeep)
Operate and maintain tools and equipment
Respond to maintenance requests and safety concerns
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in maintenance, facilities, or related field preferred
Valid driver’s license required
This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
Hours will vary based on the needs of the branch.
