Tax Compliance & Client Advisory
Perform final preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns (individual, corporate, S corporation, and partnership), ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws and firm standards.
Communicate tax results, implications, and planning strategies clearly and effectively with clients.
Workflow Management
Manage workflow across assigned tax engagements, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are completed efficiently, particularly during peak seasons.
Coordinate resources and prioritize tasks to support timely and high-quality client service.
Technical Expertise & Research
Serve as a technical resource on complex tax matters.
Conduct and oversee tax research, documenting conclusions and recommendations for internal and client-facing use.
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise, mentor, and develop staff and senior accountants, providing guidance, feedback, and support for professional growth.
Promote adherence to firm standards, best practices, and quality expectations.
Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740)
Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and related disclosures.
Process Improvement & Operational Impact
Identify and implement opportunities to improve tax processes, workflows, and technology utilization.
Support operational efficiency initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
What You'll Bring
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A CPA certification is preferred or in progress/actively pursuing or Enrolled Agent status required.
A Master's in Taxation (Mtax) is a plus.
Experience: A minimum of 4-6 years of progressive tax accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory, senior, or team lead capacity. Must have managed client engagements and signed tax returns in the past.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, CCH Axcess, UltraTax, GoSystem) and tax research platforms. Advanced Excel skills are essential.
Soft Skills:
Leadership: Proven ability to lead, delegate tasks, and provide effective guidance to junior staff.
Analytical & Problem-Solving: Superior analytical ability and critical-thinking skills to interpret complex tax codes and resolve challenging tax scenarios.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for managing a team and interacting with managers, clients, or tax authorities.

Base salary of $100,000-$120,000 plus discretionary bonus (exact base salary amount will be dependent on experience)
