Sr. Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support and enhance their infrastructure environment across systems, networking, and cloud technologies. This role is ideal for a seasoned infrastructure professional with strong experience in Windows and Linux systems, networking, virtualization, and automation tools, who is comfortable operating in a modern, evolving environment. This position is remote, with candidates required to be located in Ohio.

What You'll Be Doing

Support and maintain enterprise Windows and Linux server environments

Design, configure, and troubleshoot networking components including routing, firewalls, and VPNs

Administer and support Active Directory, Azure, and VMware environments

Implement and manage infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, and Chef

Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Python, and Bash

Monitor system performance, reliability, and security across environments

Collaborate with IT and engineering teams on infrastructure improvements and modernization

Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and architectural initiatives

Leverage emerging tools and technologies to improve operational efficiency What We're Looking For

3+ years of combined experience supporting Windows and Linux environments

3+ years of hands-on networking experience (routing, firewalls, VPNs)

3+ years of experience with Active Directory, Azure, and VMware

Experience with scripting tools such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash

Hands-on experience with automation/configuration tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef)

Strong troubleshooting and systems-level problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently in a senior-level technical role

Experience with AI-enabled tools or platforms is a plus What Our Client Offers
