Job Description:

A Shop Helper's role is to provide general assistance in a shop or industrial environment, often supporting operators, technicians, or other skilled workers. Their duties can include cleaning and organizing the workspace, moving materials, assisting with basic assembly, and ensuring the shop is well-stocked and maintained. They may also be responsible for tasks like handling tools, grinding, tapping, running parts tumbler and washer.

Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals.

Maintains a clean and safe work area. Wears required Personal Protective Equipment. Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures. Communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor. Willingness to work as assigned by your supervisor.

Must have basic knowledge in the following:

Basic math skills (standard and metric)

Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools

Ability to follow all safety rules (wearing eye and ear protection etc.)

Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors.

No prior experiance needed, training will be provided.

Have attention to detail:

Ability to proficiently read, write and speak in English

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal)

Ability to follow work instructions accurately

Ability to work well with others

Ability to multi-task

Ability to operate pallet jack / forklift

Ability to set-up and produc basic assembly process

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged standing up to 95% of shift

Frequent bending, twisting, squatting and lifting with arms extended

Hand, wrist and arm movement (full range)

Able to lift parts and/or fixtures that weigh up to 50lbs. Lifting weight over 50lbs will be accomplished with lifting aids

Must be able to wear safety glasses, hearing protection and all other personal protection as required

Various duties as assigned throught the manufacturing facility. Safely perform all of the required duties while maintaining quality and efficiency standards. Operate in a team environment to achieve company goals in safety, productivity, process improvement and housekeeping.

Hours:

Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

Starting wage based on experience.
