Job description*:

The Lower Environment Lead is responsible for managing and supporting non production environments (DEV, SIT, UAT, Performance, and Pre-Production) for banking applications. The role ensures environment stability, security compliance, controlled access, and availability in alignment with banking regulatory and risk standards.

The position requires strong hands on expertise in Linux system administration and networking, along with experience working under strict change, audit, and security controls typical of banks.

Key Responsibilities:

Lower Environment Management (Banking Context)

• Own and manage all lower/non production environments supporting banking applications

• Ensure environments are secure, stable, and production aligned

• Coordinate environment provisioning, refreshes, access, and decommissioning

• Support testing cycles for core banking, payments, channels, and regulatory systems

• Maintain proper environment segregation as per bank risk guidelines

Linux Administration:

• Administer and support enterprise Linux platforms (RHEL / Oracle Linux)

• Perform OS hardening, patching, upgrades, and certificate renewals

• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot OS level issues

• Manage users, access controls, services, logs, and filesystem health

• Ensure compliance with bank mandated OS security baselines

Windows Administration:

• Administer and support enterprise Windows platforms (Windows 2016 and above)

• Perform OS hardening, patching, upgrades, and certificate renewals

• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot OS level issues

• Manage users, access controls, services, logs, and filesystem health

• Ensure compliance with bank mandated OS security baselines

Network & Connectivity Support:

• Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues across lower environments

• Support DNS, TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, firewall rules, and load balancers

• Coordinate with network and security teams for:

o Firewall rule approvals

o Port openings

o Access whitelisting
