Position Brief:

The Chatham Group: Advanced Materials and Technologies Recruiting Firm is seeking highly qualified candidate for a Corporate Asset Management Accountant for a client in the specialty packaging and containers manufacturing industry. We are looking for candidates with 3-5+ years of experience in general accounting within a large scale manufacturing corporation, ideally either specialty chemicals, advanced materials, or industrial manufacturing industry. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in GAAP compliance, asset management, lease management for multiple production facilities, mergers/acquisitions, financial controlling, cost accounting, and internal/external auditing.

Responsibilities:

Support monthly, quarterly, and yearly close; including business unit consolidations and intercompany eliminations

Maintain ASC 842 compliance in fixed asset and property lease accountancy

Consolidate financial reporting statements and journal entries in accordance with GAAP standards

Work with subsidiary manufacturing sites to ensure consistent accounting policy and reporting standards are met

Work with external auditors, internal auditors, tax providers, and risk management teams on necessary duties

Deliver presentations on technical accounting research, whitepapers, variances, and general financial governance

Requirements:

BS in Accounting/Accountancy, Finance, Business, or other highly relevant field. CPA certification is preferable

3-5+ years of experience in corporate accounting or manufacturing accounting. Experience in either specialty chemicals/advanced materials or Big 4 public accounting is preferable

Strong working knowledge of GAAP and ASC 842 compliance standards

Advanced software skills in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Excel chart building

Compensation will be commensurate with experience level and relocation to the Charlotte area is unlikely to be provided
