Role Overview
We are supporting a leading engineering services provider in the appointment of experienced Resident Maintenance Engineers to join a permanent, on-site team in Brantford, Ontario, Canada!
This is a hands-on, technically demanding role supporting a fully automated materials handling and production environment from day one of a long-term service contract.
You will act as the primary on-site response for mechanical and electrical faults, planned maintenance, and ongoing system optimisation. The position requires the ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently across multiple concurrent systems within a fast-paced, live operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to mechanical and electrical breakdowns within agreed SLA times
Diagnose and resolve faults independently across multiple systems
Carry out safe isolation (LOTO) prior to intervention
Escalate PLC/software issues where required
Produce detailed fault reports and root cause analysis
Execute scheduled maintenance in line with OEM requirements
Perform calibration, testing, and minor repairs
Maintain detailed maintenance logs and asset records
Submit structured maintenance reports within agreed timelines
Adhere to all permit-to-work processes
Follow strict LOTO procedures across all interventions
Comply with working at height and confined space regulations
Ensure all safety protocols around robotics and guarding systems are maintained
Essential Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ hands-on maintenance experience within:
Warehouse automation
Material handling systems
Food production or highly automated manufacturing
Experience working across multiple automated systems simultaneously
Strong understanding of:
Conveyors, stackers, destackers
Automated cranes / ASRS systems
Robotic systems and pallet handling equipment
Electrical fault finding on 3-phase industrial equipment
Certifications (Required before deployment)
LOTO (Lockout/Tagout)
Working at Height (WAH)
Rescue at Height (RAH)
First Aid / CPR
