This is a 3-month onsite contract role. If you are located outside of commuting distance, travel and/or company-provided housing can be arranged.
Position Summary
The Material Planner is responsible for monitoring inventory levels and ensuring timely procurement of materials to support production and operational needs. This role focuses on preventing shortages and minimizing expedited shipping costs through effective planning and use of SAP.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production schedules
Plan and execute timely ordering of materials to prevent stockouts and delays
Utilize SAP to manage material requirements, track inventory, and generate purchase requisitions
Analyze demand forecasts and align material planning accordingly
Collaborate with procurement, production, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials
Identify risks to supply continuity and proactively implement mitigation strategies
Reduce reliance on expedited shipments by improving planning accuracy and lead time management
Maintain accurate data in SAP, including lead times, order quantities, and inventory parameters
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and supply chain efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience in material planning, inventory control, or supply chain operations
Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
